Hukuru Miskiyy

Male City, Maldives

Hukuru Miskiy, the Old Friday Mosque of Male, is one of the oldest and most significant coral stone mosques in the Maldives. This conservation project focused on documenting and restoring its intricately carved coral stone walls and lacquered timber interiors. Working closely with local craftsmen, the team used traditional materials and techniques to stabilise the structure while preserving its historic character for future generations.
